After initial communications about the site location and any limiting factors, Wind Measurement International will perform a desktop site survey. We will look at access, ground conditions, landform and spatial restrictions. Our results are compiled in a GIS package from which we produce a report including recommendations on anchor type and location.
Undertaking a sites survey limits the risk of delays such as difficulties siting and obtaining the necessary anchor loading. On sites requiring rock pinning, exploratory drill holes can be performed to assess rock hardness.
The site survey can also include an assessment of local wind shelters to help define the optimum mast height and instrument specification.
